Enable Engagements

Admins can enable engagements to track and manage your constituents' non-transactional involvement with your association such as volunteering engagements and speaking engagements. They can also expose engagements to constituents in Community Hub

  1. Contact Nimble AMS Support to deploy the Engagement - Submit For Review flow to your org.

  2. Once the Engagement - Submit For Review flow is deployed, activate it. Learn how to activate a flow.
  3. Assign the following permission sets to staff:

    Permission Set Description

    Nimble AMS Engagement View All

    View All permissions for the Nimble AMS Engagement object, including the tab, all record types, and all fields.

    Nimble AMS Engagement Create & Modify All

    Create & Modify All permissions for the Nimble AMS Schedule and Schedule Line objects, including the tabs, all record types, and all fields.

  4. Add the Engagements related list to page layouts for the following objects:
    1. Person Accounts
    2. Accounts (you can also add the Child Engagements related list if you want to see engagement records for child affiliates)
    3. Events
    4. Products (typically the page layout for the Registration record type is sufficient, but you can add it to other record types if needed)
  5. Add any of the following Contact fields to your Person Account page layouts to track biographical information about your constituents:

    Picklist (Multi-Select) Academic and professional degrees earned by this account.

    Expertise

    Picklist (Multi-Select) The association specific areas where the account has expertise.

    Picklist (Multi-Select) The ways this account is interested in engaging with the association.

    Undergraduate Institution

    Text The educational institution where this account earned their undergraduate academic degree(s).

    Graduate Institution

    Text The educational institution where this account earned their graduate academic degree(s).

    Doctoral Institution

    Text The educational institution where this account earned their doctoral degree(s).

    These are custom fields on the Contact object, but Nimble AMS uses Person Accounts so you are able to interact with these Contact fields as if they were Account fields on the person account record. This keeps the data model clean because these fields pertain exclusively to individuals, not businesses.

    If your association uses additional custom fields to track biographical information, they can be included with these fields in a dedicated section on the Person Account Layout. The section can be named Biography, for example. Learn our recommendations for using and organizing sections in Page Layout Standards.

    If you're using the Degree(s), Expertise, or Interests fields, we recommend adding or updating picklist values to match your association's needs.

  6. Optionally, enable Paths to view the Application Status in a visual path along the top of the engagement record page.

Community Hub Enablement

Follow these optional steps to enable My Engagements in Community Hub. Learn more about My Engagements.

  1. To provide a menu link to constituents, in the Community Hub Account navigation menu, set the My Engagements menu item visibility so it displays for logged in users.
  2. Grant the Community Hub Login User profile Read access to the Engagement object. Learn how to Edit Object Permissions in Profiles (external).
  3. In the Queries tab, create the following queries, which are used by the Engagement pages in Community Hub:

    A blank cell indicates you should leave the field blank.
