Managing Deals


The process of managing Deals is, generally, quite a simple process - this is a separate object from Opportunities that shares the functionality of being able to convert into an Order when it has been accepted by a Constituent.

Creating Deals

  1. From an Account Record 
    1. Navigate to the Account that you want the Deal to be connected to
    2. Find the Deals related list and click New Deal
    3. Fill in the appropriate information into the New Deal page.
    4. Click Save.
    5. On the Deal record, go to the Deal Items section, click New Deal Item.
    6. Select the product the constituent is purchasing.
    7. Save
  2. From The Deals Object
    1. Navigate to the Deals object from it's associated tab or the All Tabs section
    2. Fill in the appropriate information into the New Deal page.
    3. Click Save.
    4. On the Deal record, go to the Deal Items section, click New Deal Item.
    5. Select the product the constituent is purchasing.
    6. Save

Editing Deals

  1. Navigate to the Deal you would like to modify
  2. Select the "Edit" button at the top of the page or, if inline editing is enabled, double click the field you would like to modify
  3. Make adjustments as needed
  4. Save

Cloning Deals

  1. Navigate to the Deal you would like to create a copy of
  2. Click the "Clone" button at the top of the page.
  3. Make the appropriate changes to the Deal to match the data needed for the new Deal
  4. Save
  5. After the new Deal has been created, you will need to create new Deal Items, as these are not copied over during this process.

Converting Deals

  1. Navigate to the Deal that needs to be converted

    The Deal Status must be "Ready for Convert" in order to complete this process.

  2. Click the "Convert Deal" button at the top of the page
  3. The Deal will be converted into an Order, and will be displayed for your review.
  4. Review the order and make changes as needed.
  5. Click Save.

Standard Deal Statuses

Status Description
New Deal is new and no actions have been taken.
Contacted The constituent has been contacted regarding this deal.
On Hold The deal is on hold.
Ready for Convert The deal is ready to convert into an order.
Accepted The deal has been won -- the deal has been accepted by the constituent.
Declined The deal has been declined by the constituent.
