Basic Add Merchandise Page

New Order

When ordering merchandise, the Add Merchandise page is the part of the order process where you select the merchandise to include in the order. Merchandise is a type of product in Nimble AMS, and is created with information on the merchandise, pricing, inventory, and shipping weight. When you're done using this page, the selected merchandise products are aded to an order item.

Getting Started

There are a few fields to help establish who will be receiving the historical record for this order item, what merchandise can be purchased, and for what price.

Choosing a Customer

To get started, you can select the customer who is purchasing the merchandise. This helps determine to whom the merchandise will be shipped and who will be listed on the history of the order item. By default, the Bill To account for the order is selected as the customer but you can change this by entering constituent's full or partial name and clicking

Nimble AMS, Staff View, Button, Lookup. If more than one account is found that matches the name entered, a message is shown to let you know and you can choose which account to use as the customer.

Choosing an Entity

If your association has multiple entities, you'll next choose the entity offering the merchandise you'd like to select, and that merchandise is displayed. By default, the configured primary entity is selected.

Choosing a Price Class

You can use Price Class to select the price class to use for the customer which controls the prices for the displayed merchandise products. If the user is a current member, the selection defaults to Member. If the customer is not a member, the selection defaults to Default.

Selecting Merchandise

All merchandise offered by the selected entity are displayed and you can hover over the product name to see some record detail or click to browse to the record for more information.

If you change the Unit Price or the Quantity, you will see that adjustment in the line item price. The line item price is the total from the unit price Unit Price and the Quantity.

Adding Selections

Once your merchandise selection is complete, you can click Save to add the order item to the cart or Cancel to discard your selections. You will then be taken to the Verify Cart step.

If you forget to click Save and browse to another page, your selections will be lost.

Editing an Order

After submitting an order, you may want to edit an order item with merchandise if you need to correct a mistake, add or remove merchandise, change a quantity, or handle a partial return. The Add Merchandise page is the part of the order process where you add or remove merchandise included in the order, or change the quantity or cost. When you're done using this page, the selected merchandise products are aded to the order item with the chosen quantity and price and deselected merchandise is removed.

Reviewing and Adjusting Information

To help set context for changes to the order, you can review the selected customer and entity for the order item. These selections cannot be changed, but highlight to whom selections are designated to ship, and the entity offering the merchandise.

If you'd like to change the customer or entity for merchandise products in the order, we recommend that you delete the current order item and add a new order item with your desired settings and merchandise selections.

Also, you can select the price class for the customer purchasing the merchandise which controls the prices for the displayed merchandise products.

Adjusting Selections 

All merchandise offered by the selected entity are displayed with previously selected merchandise and quantities.

You can select merchandise with a click, which is then shown in green. When a merchandise selection is removed, it is shown in red. In addition to changing selections, you can also adjust the Unit Price and Quantity. The price is of each is updated with each adjustment so you can see the impact of each change.

If you change the Unit Price or Quantity of merchandise that was selected previously, it will not be shown in green.

Adding Selection Adjustments

Once your merchandise selection adjustments are complete, you can click Save to add the order item to the cart or Cancel to discard your changes. You will then be taken to the Verify Cart step.

If you forget to click Save and browse to another page, your selection adjustments will be lost.

The basic Add Merchandise page is recommended for associations selling a small number of merchandise products, and is not shown in the order process by default.
