Managing Specific Cards

Administrators can view a Community Hub card to see how it is set up.

View An Existing Card

  1. In the Force.com App Menu, select Community Hub Setup.
  2. In the tab bar, click Pages.
  3. In Page to configure:, select the page you want to customize.

  4. In the Configure Card Types section, click the name of the card you want to view.


Create A Card

  1. In the Force.com App Menu, select Community Hub Setup.
  2. In the tab bar, click Pages.
  3. In Page to configure:, select the page you want to customize.

  4. In Add A Card..., select New Card.
  5. In Type, select the card type you would like to use for the new card.

    Card types preceded with * are recommended for use in creating your new card. These card types are recommended because they offer the most options for customizability.

  6. In Name, enter an easily recognizable term to identify the card. 

  7. In Description, enter a description of what the card does. 
  8. If you want to grant or revoke access to the card, in Access Control, select the access control which grants the access you want to use.

    Deactivated access controls cannot be selected.

  9. If you want to apply a custom style to this card, in CSS Class, enter one or more CSS classes separated by a space. Example: bg-promoted bold-card.
  10. If you want a heading displayed at the top of the card, in Heading Label, begin typing the name of the custom label you'd like to use for the card heading and select it from the list of results or click New to create a new one.

  11. If you want a description displayed below the card heading, in Description Label, begin typing the name of the custom label you'd like to use for the card description and select it from the list of results or click New to create a new one.

  12. If you want to display information on the card, in Object, select the object from which you want to display information.
    1. In Data Source, select the data source to display information on the card.
    2. In Field Setselect the field set containing the fields you want to display on the card or click New to create a new one.

  13. If you want to customize the way this card is rendered, in Card Layout, select the card layout you want to use.
  14. If the selected Object has multiple record types and you want the card to only display to some of them, in Record Type Names, select one or more record type to which the card should display.

    Press CTRL/CMND to select multiple record types.

  15. If you want to include one or more buttons on the card, in Buttons, select one or more buttons.

    Press CTRL/CMND to select multiple buttons.

  16. If you are using a Data Source, in No Records Label, begin typing the name of the custom label you'd like to display on the card if there are no records to display and select it from the list of results or click New to create a new one.

  17. In Configuration, enter any additional information required for the selected card type.

  18. Click Save.

Edit A Card

You can only edit custom cards. To edit cards added as part of a Nimble AMS package, you must first Clone the Card and edit the clone.

  1. In the Force.com App Menu, select Community Hub Setup.
  2. In the tab bar, click Pages.
  3. In Page to configure:, select the page you want to customize.

  4. Click Edit next to the card you want to customize.
  5. Make the desired changes.

  6. Click Save.

Clone A Card

  1. In the Force.com App Menu, select Community Hub Setup.
  2. In the tab bar, click Pages.
  3. In Page to configure:, select the page you want to customize.

  4. Click Clone next to the card you want to clone.


Enabling A Card

  1. In the Force.com App Menu, select Community Hub Setup.
  2. In the tab bar, click Pages.
  3. In Page to configure:, select the page you want to customize.

  4. Click Enable next to the card you want to enable.

    Enabling a card will show it on every page on which it is used.

    Also, the characters and spaces in the names of the cards on a page, together with the commas inserted between each on the Page Custom Setting may not exceed 255. Once reached, administrators will not be allowed to add additional cards to a page. If you are not allowed to add a card to a page, it is because the cards on the page have names that are too long, and must be shortened, or one or more cards must be removed or disabled.

Removing A Card

  1. In the Force.com App Menu, select Community Hub Setup.
  2. In the tab bar, click Pages.
  3. In Page to configure:, select the page you want to customize.

  4. Click Remove next to the card you want to remove.

Disabling A Card

  1. In the Force.com App Menu, select Community Hub Setup.
  2. In the tab bar, click Pages.
  3. In Page to configure:, select the page you want to customize.

  4. Click Disable next to the card you want to disable.

    Disabling a card will remove it from every page on which it is used.
