Create a Price Class

Staff can create one or more price classes to appropriately assign pricing rules to an account. For example, members may pay a lower price than non-members for products.

1. In the tab bar, click 

   

   , or in Salesforce Classic, click 

   

   .
2. Click Price Classes.
3. Click New.
4. In Price Class Name, enter the name of the price class.

5. In Sequence, enter the sequential order in which price classes should be listed.

   

   Setting the sequence allows the pricing engine to determine which price class to assign to the account when processing an order. If the account qualifies for more than one price class, the account will be assigned the price class that has the lowest sequence value.

6. Click Save.

7. To use this new price class, an administrator must update the Price Classes field on the Special Price object with a new picklist value that matches name of the price class you entered in Price Class Name. Learn how to Add or Edit Picklist Values (external).
